This Is Bel Sorriso
Bel Sorriso was created from a simple idea: good food should feel personal.
We wanted to build a restaurant where the food has a story, the ingredients matter, and guests can feel the care that goes into every plate. For us, that means making food from scratch, growing what we can, supporting local growers, cooking with fire, changing with the seasons, and never losing sight of the fact that a restaurant is really about people.
Cosimo — From Molfetta, With Love
Bel Sorriso brings together Cosimo Allegretta’s Italian roots, years of professional cooking experience, and deep connection to traditional Italian flavors with Kira’s love of hospitality, gardening, creativity, and bringing people together around food.
But our goal has never been to simply recreate Italy.
Instead, we wanted to take the spirit of Italian cooking and let it live here on California’s Central Coast, surrounded by vineyards, farms, gardens, and the ingredients available right outside our door.
From Italian Kitchens to the Central Coast
Our menu reflects that. Some dishes are deeply rooted in tradition, while others are our own interpretation of the food we love to cook and eat. Sometimes a dish begins with a recipe Cosimo has known for years. Other times, it starts with something fresh from the garden, a beautiful ingredient from a local grower, or an idea we cannot stop thinking about.
That connection to the food matters to us.
You may see us bringing produce back from a local supplier, cutting herbs from the Tower Gardens, testing a new dish in the kitchen, or pulling pizzas from the wood-fired oven. We do not want that part of the restaurant hidden behind the kitchen doors. We want you to see where the food comes from, how it is made, and the people behind it.
Because we believe food is more meaningful when there is a story attached to it.
From Molfetta to Paso Robles
Bel Sorriso is still growing, changing, and becoming exactly what we hoped it could be: a place to bring friends, share food and wine, linger over lunch, discover something new, and feel completely welcome while you are here.
We want it to be relaxed, warm, and personal. The kind of place where you can come in for a quick bite and end up staying much longer than you planned.
Bel Sorriso means Beautiful Smile, and that is what we hope you leave with.
